For those of us who are sports fanatics, or just enjoy watching the Olympics, this year it will be easier to catch our favorite events thanks to the efforts of NBC. This Olympic season NBC is bringing its online fans over 2,200 hours of live competition from Beijing, China. In 2004 Olympic coverage online was pretty scarce, basically posting still pictures of events in progress was as live as it got.
The NBC network launched NBCOlympics.com in 2000, but like I said before, up until now it’s basically been a large gallery of photos. “we’re excited about what we are putting into the fingertips of the Olympics fan,” said Gary Zenkel, president of NBC Olympic. “We think it will generate a tremendous amount of engagement. I am personally very excited about this year Olympics, and now I know I will be able to catch almost all the action on demand from my computer screen. Hooray for online streaming!
