I know I haven’t posted in a long while, I’ve been very busy with transferring schools and what not. But now I’m basically all settled in and ready to get back to work. I have been keeping up with Technology Current, but unfortunately traffic has been cut n half lately. Also I had been smart priced again, not that it matters cuz I’m not getting any clicks anyway… It’d kind of depressing. I was thinking about adding an adsense block or two to this blog, still not sure if it’s worth it yet. Although for some reason this blog jumped up to 41 visitors yesterday, after averaging 1-3 since its creation, probably just a fluke though. Anyway, even tho I’m extremely frustrated with my traffic and readership I will press on. If your reading this thanks lol.
In other finance news, since I can;t seem to make any money online lol, i got a job at a local golf course in Suffolk Va, It would be amazing if eventually my online income could replace my new job, but the golf course pays way more than 10 cents a day!!!
Hooray, So Google updated the Pagerank toolbar today and Technologycurrent.com was given a pagerank of 3!
I have seen plenty of great website that for some reason have the same pagerank as me actually. A lot of people believe that Pagerank has little to do with traffic or search engine position which is what I’m most interested in sooo yeah, either way I’m very happy and hopefully next update I will have grown substantially! Thanks for reading!
Well, for the past week or so my adsense earnings have been pretty pathetic, And I had no clue what was causing this, my traffic is the same but my revenue was down significantly!!! So yesterday I was playing around with my ads, and realized that I had 4 ads on my pages, One in the banner, one 250×300 on the side, and two in my posts. I thought maybe there was a penalty for having more than 3, So i deleted one and bam! Earnings for that day bounce up. I knew something was wrong because my clicks were the same, but the CPC was literally pennies. So hopefully yesterday wasn’t a fluke and this fixes the problem.
In other news I think I have written a couple great new articles for eHow! My earnings have made a nice jump, this week it’s been $3-$4 dollars a day. Which will almost bring in close to $100 dollars a month! So hopefully this trend continues, so far every month my earnings have risen substantially. IF all goes well the rest of the month my earnings should top $75 dollars, which is nice because last month I reach $50.
News like this inspires me to frantically write more quality articles.. there is no limit on articles you can write, so if my 65 articles bring me $100 a month and growing, what will happen one day if i reach 500 articles!?!?! Sky’s the limit… or space wither one.
I noticed a little surge in traffic today, so i check out my feedburner I got a lot of traffic for the search term “LG Chocolate 3 phone” so i typed it in Google and my site came up numero uno! Pretty excited about that. In other news, I got my Unique Blog Designs 125×125 to work, There was a coding error on my part… silly me!
Today I also received a call from Never Blue Ads saying they accepted my request!!! So today was overall a good day, and to top it off I saw Hancock the movie tonight and it was amazing!
So I was looking for other income sources, other than Google adsense. I am already running Kontera, which provides my in-text ads. They only show up if hovered over by the mouse. But after reading articles on adsense competitors I came across Clicksor and Chitika. Clicksor seemed too good to be true, and it was, they only work with sites that have at least 5,000 daily page views
. But Chitika on the other hand provided me with a neat little code. It’s strictly for US search engine traffic, so the ad doesn’t show unless the user comes from a search engine and is in the United States. Since about 80% of my traffic is search engine traffic this works fine with me. Apparently the CTR are pretty good with these ads since the ads shows the terms searched for!
So after recording a record high earning for Sunday… Monday was a big let down. I only got two click very late in the day. I was on the verge of ending my earnings streak… but luckily someone saw fit to click an ad of mine ![]()
In other news, I put in ad on Craigslist for for assistance with my Tech Blog, Technologycurrent.com
I got a response from someone who attend the college I’m transferring to and is an IT major specializing in E-Commerce. The stipulations are pretty relaxed, He can write as many posts as he wants, long as they are quality and unique. I obviously can’t pay him since my site earns $1 a day on average, so I’m letting him use his adsense code on his posts, and any other affiliate links he owns. He can also link to his other sites or blogs long as the post is related. Not to mention a free email account xxxxxx@technologycurrent.com. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in feel free to contact me via Technologycurrent.com/about.

Part of what makes a blog a blog is the interaction and communication between the blogger (me) and the readers (you)! Although I have yet to attract any readers I’m sure after some more hard work and patience that time will come. Now other than wanting to chat with others about subject they love, why else would anyone want to comment? Well one reason are linkbacks. With the Top Commenter Widget readers who participate frequently are rewarded with free publicity and links! I notice that when I come across blog of interest that have a Top Commenter section I feel more inclined to leave a couple comments. Now don’t get this twisted with spamming comments like “Great post!” or “Thanks” and a link to your blog all over peoples pages… that is highly frowned upon and might get you banned from commenting and or the Top Commenter Widget.
With that being said, I hope to see some commenting around here at Finance Current.com I long for the day I’ll be able to spend most of my time blogging, reading comments from my followers!!! Make my dreams come true haha…
Another great way to gain site exposure is to add your website to many site directories. There are also blog specific directories. And after that you can go back and add your RSS feed to RSS directories!! Yay how much fun! If you don’t want to spend all your time manually submitting your site, there are services which will do this for you, some are free and others aren’t. I personally sign up for a free month of iSubmit every time I make a new site and let them do the work. Here is a list compiled by the good folks over at TopRankBlog.com. I plan on adding Finance Current to most if not all of them…
I realize that my beginning posts are all about gaining traffic, but that is because there is no point in spending hours creating content for a blog or website that no one will read! Now if you notice at the bottom of all my posts there is an “add to any” button. This button if clicked will open a wide range of social bookmarking sites to add my post to. I have a list of 4 or 5 that I manually add all my posts to after publishing. The number one producer of traffic for my other blogs is Digg. Other than search engines Digg brings me the most traffic. Not only do these social bookmarking sites help market your site, they also provide inbound links which helps with page ranking and what not. Another great tool is
add to Facebook, if your like me and in college you have a ton of friends, what better people to share your posts and finding with than your friends!?!? So now you can go sign up for some of these social bookmarking sites and start getting traffic rolling to your site.
