Well I beleive my google adsense account has been smartpriced. To battle this, I’ve read that removing ads from my site for a while will reset it… or something like that. So for this week I replaced all my Google ads with Chitika Premium ads. Hopefully things go back to normal soon, I was earning about .50 a click before, now its more like .1-.5 cents a click!!! Well, for the past week or so my adsense earnings have been pretty pathetic, And I had no clue what was causing this, my traffic is the same but my revenue was down significantly!!! So yesterday I was playing around with my ads, and realized that I had 4 ads on my pages, One in the banner, one 250×300 on the side, and two in my posts. I thought maybe there was a penalty for having more than 3, So i deleted one and bam! Earnings for that day bounce up. I knew something was wrong because my clicks were the same, but the CPC was literally pennies. So hopefully yesterday wasn’t a fluke and this fixes the problem.

In other news I think I have written a couple great new articles for eHow! My earnings have made a nice jump, this week it’s been $3-$4 dollars a day. Which will almost bring in close to $100 dollars a month! So hopefully this trend continues, so far every month my earnings have risen substantially. IF all goes well the rest of the month my earnings should top $75 dollars, which is nice because last month I reach $50.

News like this inspires me to frantically write more quality articles.. there is no limit on articles you can write, so if my 65 articles bring me $100 a month and growing, what will happen one day if i reach 500 articles!?!?! Sky’s the limit… or space wither one.

Well my earnings streak with Google Adsense sadly ended this week. Two days ago i recorded my 1st $0.00 earning day in about a month. Very sad I know, but as I was sitting down wondering why my adsense revenue has been dropping, I think I figured it out. Chitika! Ever since I implemented some other advertising mediums adsense has been suffering. At first I was worried but now I don’t see this as a reason to be concerned. Since there are more ads to click, and no more visitors of course the clicking will be spread a little thin, but I feel more comfortable with multiple streams of income from Technology Current.

With that being said I am coming to like Chitika… a lot! The click through rates of the Premium ads is incredible. I average a 3% ctr, with some days as high as 6%! Also the average CPC seems to be steadily rising, not sure what that’s about… the first couple days it was 0.11 and has risen to 0.17.

Also I am not very happy with Kontera at all, there in text advertisements are not doing well at all, and the CPC are very very low. I am considering switching to Chitika’s in text ads! Maybe I will wait until I reach Kontera’s payout threshold and then switch…

After looking at the Money Makin Guru’s Monthly earing post it made me want to post my own.

So for the month of June here are some statistics

Good start, but not any where close to where I want to be….

So I was looking for other income sources, other than Google adsense. I am already running Kontera, which provides my in-text ads. They only show up if hovered over by the mouse. But after reading articles on adsense competitors I came across Clicksor and Chitika. Clicksor seemed too good to be true, and it was, they only work with sites that have at least 5,000 daily page views . But Chitika on the other hand provided me with a neat little code. It’s strictly for US search engine traffic, so the ad doesn’t show unless the user comes from a search engine and is in the United States. Since about 80% of my traffic is search engine traffic this works fine with me. Apparently the CTR are pretty good with these ads since the ads shows the terms searched for!

Ok, well today turned out to be a great day, Technology Current pulled in$4.99 today, and it’s only 8 PM.. could potentially increase. For the past two weeks my blog has made a consistent 1 to 2 dollars a day… and I was happy with that, after a month of seeing plenty of $0 profit days 2 dollars seems like a fortune lol.

You may also noticed that I removed Adsense from this blog… It may come back but not any time soon. I visit and edit my blogs a lot, and I was adding too many page impressions and messing up my CTR. Specially since this site probably averages 1 visitor a day lol. I also applied to NeverBlue Ads today we’ll see what happends with that.

And finally I was browsing ProBlogger.net today and found out that they have a lot of blogger job opportunities in their job board. It looks like i might be writing for a new blog called TheMovieSpace.com.

When ever I get depressed, or should I say impatient with my internet earnings I tend to find something to smile about. This time it happends to be the fact that Technology Current’s Alexa rank broke the 1 million mark recently. #963,699 to be exact, this might not be a very good ranking, but I’ve come along way from hovering around 3 million I think it was.

I recently submitted Finance Current to Alexa so hopefully this blog will move quickly up the rankings.

As for more positive news, my Google Adsense earnings have been growing pretty consistently.? For the first time ever I’ve gone a full two weeks with no $0.00 earning days!!! Although one day I earned about 5 cents, every little bit helps. I’ve noticed my page views dropping though? They have fallen from averaging about 150 a day to to closer to 100 Hopefully it is just a phase. I’ll be sure to keep posting and updating anyone who cares about my journey.

P.s. Kontera in-text advertising has brought no earnings for the past two days, maybe google is getting all the clicks?

Well it is 2:52 AM on the east coast and I just got in from watching Wanted (great movie by the way) and i logged on to my google adsense account to see if I got any clicks today. Today’s earnings was only $1.83 but that’s a good day for me! And what makes it even better is that it pushed me over the $100 threshold. Even though I wont see a check until near the end of July, it’s nice to know i have some extra cash on the way. Now my next goal is to try and make $100 in the span of one month. If I can achieve that, coupled with my growing eHow earnings hopefully I’ll be pulling in at least $200 monthly by the end of summer. If you want to help in my quest visit back regularly.
