“A seventh-grader at Tokyo’s Joshi Gakuen all-girl junior high school gets a response to her answer and is advised to do it again on a screen of Nintendo DS game console during an English class in June. The portable video game machine is used as a key teaching tool at the Japanese school.”
With new advances in technology everyday, it no wonder that video games are finding their way into classrooms. More and more video game producers are pumping out educational games that are still fun, as well as games that stimulate the brain and help with hand eye coordination.
More and more teachers are branching out ans starting to embrace to idea of using gaming to teach and connect with their students. I think that this will make great strides to erase the stigma that learning is boring. If kids enjoy learning then grades will rise; kids will actually love going to class and engaging in new activities that teach and prepare students for life after high school/college.
