Apple’s latest invention, the IPAD was launched recently, and as an owner of a new 32GB Ipad device, I decided to write a general article about the differences between an IPAD and an IPOD and a Netbook , or to put it in other words – “why you want to replace my good old laptop with an Ipad?”
The IPAD 32GB site has a nice post that talks about the differences between the Ipad and other devices – “the new IPAD comes with the same OS as the Iphone/Ipod (OSx) and without a keyboard, which naturally puts it in the entertainment devices category. Although it looks like one of the largest terminals of the 21st century, it still features the same functionality of its smaller brothers”. Can putting a “new dress” on an Ipod (a larger screen) can actually make this device the greatest successes of the decade?
What we do know for sure is that Apple wanted to make people talk about the IPAD, no matter if it’s good or bad, as long as they talk with. If people hate or love the IPAD, it will become a consciousness. If the IPAD is on the minds of people, then more people will think about it when they’ll be looking to buy a computer.
But why do people hate the IPAD? Is it because of its design or because the operating system? Or maybe it’s the hardware? Are people just looking too hard to find an Apple mistake? It’s true that not everything is perfect and it’s also true that the IPAD itself is not perfect, that for example the camera, or the non-camera, yes the IPAD doesn’t have one (although the iPod touch does). But do you really need a backside camera on laptop?
The design of the IPAD is also not perfect – it stems from the fact that Apple wanted to get users to accept something they’ve learned to love and not a complicated device that you can not use it without reading the instructions in detail, so once again, multi-tasking is out.
Not too long ago I was asked by some people, as an Apple geek, “Why should I buy the Ipad and not an Ipod?”, I answered them, “The fact that the Ipad looks like an iPod touch does not mean he is one.”
Some analysts believe that the IPAD 32GB & the IPAD 64GB are going to be a big succees and will take over the world just as the Iphone did, but as a user I don’t really trust them. I always try to check the product and decide myself.
This made me think – should I buy myself a new IPAD 32GB? Can it really replace my good old HP laptop?
To answer this I first had to come up with a list of tasks I’m doing with my laptop, so I did: Emailing, browsing the Internet, listening to music, watching movies, playing games, Twittering and little Facebooking.
So can the IPAD handle all these tasks? luckily it can – so that good enough for me! Thanks to a very attractive price, packaging and a slick look – I decided I’m going to buy it (so I preordered it).
I’d just close this article by saying that in the recent years Apple showed the world that it forsees the future, and my believe is that once again this amazing company did it, with the new IPAD.
